Here at Baxi Heating’s Commercial Division, we have exciting and challenging opportunity for an Area Sales Manager for to join our Commercial Division covering postcodes S, DE, NG, LN, PE, LE, NN & PE. Our Commercial range provides a comprehensive range of heating systems offers you the most energy-efficient, sustainable and economical solutions, whatever your requirement and has provided energy-saving commercial heating solutions since 1935.

As Areas Sales Manager you will establish and maintain contact at all appropriate levels with all levels with all identified contractors, merchants and Installers. To win work using the pre-existing

Remeha specification or gain break competitor specifications. To use your contacts, relationships and specification details to facilitate the targeted business and profitability levels as dictated by the company. To negotiate at all levels within the purchasing contractor and managing levels of contract support to secure the orders.

As an Area Sales Manager, you will:

  • Build strong relationships with all stakeholders at senior, head office, regional and branch level
  • Ensure the ongoing development of a strategy to build sales and loyalty
  • Complete all CRM requirements to an agreed level of details and timeliness
  • Manage day-to-day activities, reports and communications
  • Manage commercial relationships
  • Complete effective sales presentations to contractors, installers, distributors and influences based on a solution selling approach
  • Gain knowledge on customer requirements and service their needs, while identifying new business opportunities
  • To build effective and cooperative working relationships will all internal and external colleagues
  • Ensure expenses are kept under control
  • To ensure all Health and Safety procedures and guidelines are upheld
  • Be proactive with personal development such as product knowledge, time management, sales presentations and other matters related to professional selling.

Knowledge, skills and experience required:

  • The job holder should have experience in the Sales Environment, with a proven track record of establishing, developing an area and contact base.  Have an understanding of the commercial heating market, and particularly how to influence the commercial decisions of our customers.
  • The individual should have a good understanding of the structure of small/medium and large M&E contractors.  
  • Knowledge of structures and key players within the designated area, are required.  Good communication skills, numerical skills, professional selling and negotiation techniques are a prerequisite of this position. This position will require an individual that has a high competent level of IT skills.

CONTACTS AND COMMUNICATIONS:

The Jobholder is expected to establish and maintain contact with all relevant customer staff to enable him/her to influence and persuade them.  The job holder needs to cultivate their relationships for the company’s benefit and needs to exercise the appropriate levels of tact and diplomacy.  Similarly, they need to be aware of the wider impact and decisions may have. 

Contractors, Merchants and installers are key in this relationship, as are their peers within BAXI Heating.

External:               90%  Contractors/Merchants

Internal:               10%  Peers within BDR Thermea Sales Team, Senior Managers and Directors
