The Role:

As Assistant Management Accountant, your main purpose will be to work closely with the Management Accounts team to provide support to enable them to achieve key targets and deadlines

Key Responsibilities include:

  • Assisting with the reconciliation of company bank accounts, including analysis and review of key spend – fuel, phones, car leasing, tolls, hotels
  • Monthly review of general ledger accounts for key business units
  • Analysing and reconciling company credit cards
  • Assisting with processing of employee expenses
  • Processing and reviewing private mileage deductions
  • Monthly internal invoicing
  • Monthly & Quarterly Sales ledger invoicing
  • Processing monthly contract direct debits  
  • Preparing and posting of a range of accounting entries, including accruals, prepayments, manual cheques and inter group recharges
  • Monthly preparation and completion of relevant balance sheet reconciliations
  • Other Ad hoc duties as and when required

Knowledge and experience:

  • Experience of working in a busy finance department
  • Studying towards a recognised accounting qualification or be in possession of a relevant Degree or AAT qualification
  • Strong IT/Excel and system skills (Intermediate capability in Excel preferable)
  • Ability to communicate effectively with your peers and senior management
  • Good analytical, planning & organisation skills, as well as good eye for detail and accurate data input
  • Ability to prioritise own work and use own initiative
  • Team player who is hard working and self-driven

The Person:

We are looking for an individual who has the ability to work under pressure whilst still being able to complete tasks set out in a calm and efficient manner.  The individual needs to feel comfortable in managing their own workload in a timely manner and have the ability to use own initiative.
