An exciting vacancy has arisen within the Product Management Department at Wokingham for a new Head of Product Management to join the team within Commercial. Reporting directly to the UK Head of Strategy and Product Management, the main purpose of this role is lead the UK Commercial Product Management team to deliver long-term sustainable EBIT and share growth through the management of the Product portfolio. You will establish the team as the recognised product owners within the business, set and align the Product strategy to deliver the overall business strategy. You will work seamlessly across functions to ensure execution, define KPI’s in order to measure and drive success.

As the Head of Product Management – Commercial, you will:

  • Lead the creation and ownership of Product plans for the portfolio
  • Engage with Group Product Management to build and execute the UK Product roadmap
  • Drive cross-functional teams to successfully execute UK market launches for new products, end-of-life product cessation and in-lifecycle product improvements
  • Directly supervise five Product Managers and one Technical Insights Manager
  • Ensure UK market requirements are defined and included in all Group NPD projects
  • Drive New Product Development compliance for all new UK Product Introductions, alongside ensuring that it is customer focused, securing the voice of customer for all projects.
  • Lead the creation of value propositions
  • Engage with the Marketing function to define key messages and ensure they are communicated to target audiences through relevant, compelling communications.
  • Identify key competitors and their products, and build counter arguments
  • Deliver training to sales teams to ensure they are confident and competent to take the proposition to market
  • Constantly re-evaluate the product proposition through its lifecycle to optimise features, functions and value
  • Set and continually review pricing to support the value proposition, ensuring maximum profitability whilst driving demand
  • Manage and develop team members to achieve their potential and create a high performing Product Management team
  • Participate in the Commercial leadership team

Knowledge, skills and experience required:

  • Minimum five years of experience within a Product Management role
  • Educated to a degree level or equivalent
  • Able to demonstrate success in defining and launching excellent products
  • Experience of working for an international, multi-site operation with geographically spread teams
  • Experience of B2B Marketing is desirable
  • Leadership of cross-functional or multi-disciplined teams is essential
  • Financially literature, and experience of Product group P&L management
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills to all levels
  • Competent in the use of Microsoft Office programmes including Word, Excel and PowerPoint
  • Full clean UK driving licence and willing to travel as part of the role
  • Relevant experience in the heating/hot water industry and knowledge of decentralised commercial water heating (point of use), low carbon technologies and smart controls would be an advantage but is not essential

We are looking for someone who is self-motivated, capable of working both individually and within a team, organised, and someone who has an excellent eye for detail.
