We are looking for a HR Shared Service Team Leader who will be accountable for the performance and service of the HR Shared Service team. Lead the team through a period of change, evolving the service to enable HR Operations to deliver a high quality centralised transactional service to the business. Drive a culture of process improvement, a tight focus on data integrity and an excellent service to managers and employees. We are open for this role to be based our Preston or Warwick site.

We are looking for candidates that have previous experience within a Shared Service environment that are either a Team Leader already or are highly experienced in HR operations that are now looking for their first lead role. Candidates will have excellent people management skills, be able to work to SLA's, manage and prioritise several tasks at any one time and have excellent people skills.

As the HRSS Team Leader, you will:

  • Provide a comprehensive HR administrative and advisory service for all employees in the organisation.
  • Ensure all employee records (manual and electronic) are accurate, up to date and comply with all Data Protection Act and Company specific requirements.
  • Responsible for employee lifecycle documentation and authorisation, in line with Company policy and guidelines.
  • Proactively manage all HR channels and associated ways of customer contact with the team.
  • Delegate and provide high quality administrative support for bulk employee communications, new business and change projects.
  • Manage case load, prioritise, and allocate workload within the team.
  • Ensure team is always adequately resourced.
  • Proactively coach, develop and manage the performance of the team.
  • Highlight areas of improvement and suggest actions to maintain best practice.
  • Suggest and implement process improvements that will contribute to more efficient working practices - be a Subject Matter expert for all operational aspects HR processes.
  • Be a source of expert advice on Resourcelink, case management, and all associated tools.
  • Manage the transfer in of transactional work from other HR functional areas
  • Manage or escalate complaints as appropriate.
  • Liaise effectively with all areas of the HR function - be a key bridge of effective interaction and connectivity.
  • Responsible for recruitment activity within Baxi.
  • Support the review and approval of payment to suppliers.
  • Be involved in any cross functional or HR projects as necessary.
  • Maintain Benefit and Reward relationships and data for third party suppliers.
  • Experience of People Analytics, focusing on Reward Statements, Gender Pay Gap reporting etc.
  • Experience of Grading & Bonus structures and how they work in the wider business.
  • Training for Line Managers around process and policies.

Knowledge, skills and experience required:

  • Educated to A level or equivalent (minimum grade C in Mathematics and English or equivalent).
  • CIPD qualified desirable.
  • Experience of coaching and developing people and ability to manage and motivate a team.
  • Track record of working in a customer-focused environment where the emphasis is on SLA's and continuous improvement. Ideally worked in an HR Shared Service Centre before, but other relevant operational experience considered.
  • Track record of delivering process improvement.
  • Experience of HRIS implementation.
  • Good interpersonal skills - personable and professional. Be a great ambassador for HR.
  • Excellent level of IT skills in particular Excel (e.g. v look-ups/pivot tables), Word, PowerPoint, SharePoint, HR Database).
  • Proven written and numeracy skills.
  • Must be tenacious, resourceful, and resilient.
  • Excellent communicator (both written and verbal).
  • Proven organisation skills with ability to prioritise in a timely and efficient manner
  • Strong relationship building skills.
  • Outstanding attention to detail.
