An exciting vacancy has arisen within our Operations Management Team for a LEAN Coach to join us. Reporting directly to the Operations Manager, the main purpose of this role is to lead and design Lean manufacturing goals and strategies for improving the operations and processes within the organisation. To drive efficiency and lead continuous improvement projects across Baxi, focussing on products, systems, operations and processes. Working with the Management Team, the LEAN coach will identify opportunities for efficiency improvement projects within the business. He/ she will facilitate the development of a Lean culture across Baxi, to deliver sustainable business improvement using Lean methodologies.  

 

As a LEAN coach you will:

  • Develop a robust continuous improvement strategy in partnership with the Management Team and key business stakeholders
  • Coach and mentor operational leaders, supervisors and operators to create a continuous improvement culture for effective and sustainable behavioural change
  • Develop lean manufacturing activities to support a culture of continuous improvement in line with Baxi’s strategic goals, KPI objectives and corresponding plans.
  • Lead the lean assessment process.  Starting in Assembly, define and develop focused plans for individual production lines to implement lean manufacturing tools and processes.
  • Deploy operational Lean tools in order to deliver improved performance (e.g. 5S, Standard Work, Kanban, Value Stream Mapping, FTG etc.) 
  • Deploy standardised operating performance KPI‘s to establish baseline for factory performance
  • Define and deploy key improvement activities across each manufacturing units and functional areas (including supply chain, warehouse and distribution) in line with the strategic business objectives
  • Define and implement specific performance improvement priorities with focused application of LEAN tools and systems.
  • Engage management teams to embrace lean philosophy as part of the culture change to support business objectives
  • Support delivery of business improvement change initiatives. Develop and contribute towards improvement standards in line with industry best practice
  • Report on progress of projects, understanding the risks, dependencies, budgets, resourcing, issues, critical milestones and forthcoming pipeline, and actions necessary to ensure success
  • Define, develop and publish business improvement process documentation to reflect best practice  Undertake business process mapping, statistical analysis for improvement projects to support wider change
  • Lead, define and develop continuous improvement activities designed to improve performance, such running Kaizen events

Knowledge, Skills & Experience Required:

  • Demonstratable experience in Manufacturing Leadership Role
  • Qualified in LEAN Production Systems
  • Working knowledge of ISO 9000
  • Strong leadership & interpersonal skills
  • MS Excel, PowerPoint, etc.
  • Working knowledge of ERP / MRP systems
