A fantastic opportunity has arisen within the Maintenance team for a Storesperson to join the team. Reporting into the Maintenance Manager, the main purpose of this role is to issue and maintain the levels of stock, raise purchase orders, schedule planned maintenance activities and to computerise maintenance documents.

Maintenance Storesperson, in more detail:

  • Issue stock-controlled components as requested recording each part number, location, quantity and job number.
  • Selection of items for consolidated re-ordering.
  • To schedule Planned Maintenance activities enabling the department to prevent or reduce breakdowns to the minimum.
  • Raise purchase requisitions after obtaining competitive prices and progress via Purchasing on the M3 System.
  • Ordering of materials using the company credit card and maintaining associated records.
  • Maintenance of records associated with receiving and despatching materials.
  • Continuous stocktaking.
  • To schedule activity on the Planned Maintenance system.
  • To review/maintain the Maintenance system.
  • Computerisation of Maintenance documentation.
  • Able to cover for other members in the team when required.

Knowledge, skills and experience required

  • Working knowledge of Maintenance Management & Stores systems, coupled with a basic knowledge of engineering technology and maintenance operations
  • Good interpersonal skills
  • Sound literacy and numeracy skills
  • Good computer skills, including knowledge of: Windows, Microsoft Word and Excel
  • Ability to work well independently or as a team
  • Adapts to change well and views it as an opportunity
