We are looking for an enthusiastic and well-motivated individual to join our Quality Team as a Plant Quality Engineer. 

As a Plant Quality Engineer, you will: 

  • To support the development of NPD Controls to quality assure the product from concept to production.
  • Develop & maintain control plans and parts/process verification check/audits, assisting in developing D & PFMEA's and with the submission of customer approval documentation (PPAPs/PSWs).
  • Support  the understanding and compliance with the requirements of ISO9001 in operational areas
  • Drive in house problem solving activity to target zero defect from initial containment through to CAPA verification.
  • Generate a Quality status report each week/month.
  • Lead, motivate, coach and develop individual team members by effective day to day management of team members, including regular one-to-one, professional development, management of sickness absence, disciplinary processes, employee relations management etc.
  • Review and support the development of the internal documentation in support of ISO9001 management system requirement for JEF’s, Procedures, SOP’s, WI and Forms that support operational effectiveness
  • Be the key interface between the customer and the site for raised quality concerns, incidents  and developing of effective relationships with our customers
  • Ensuring the effective management of CAPA activities to closure of customer and internal issues, including initiating investigations, root cause analysis, risk assessments, implementation of change controls,  in support of effective Corrective and Preventive Actions
  • To reduce the business COPQ and drive improvements in CI activity’s using the core tool box such as Six Sigma and Lean principles
  • Maintain key Performance Indicators for the Quality function for daily, weekly, and monthly reporting, ensuring all productivity and quality performance issues are managed and documented with appropriate corrective actions implemented
  • Be a key support to the UK Plant Quality Manager in driving through leading world class practises
  • The role expects the Quality engineer to operate with minimum of supervision and has full Autonomy to drive the day to day activities to closure to meet customer and internal expectations

Knowledge and Experience Required:

  • 5+ year’s experience of working in a quality / engineering environment
  • Degree, HND/HNC or equivalent in Engineering Discipline
  • Working knowledge of core tools APQP, PPAP, SPC, R&R, Cpk , FMEA and control plan
  • Working Knowledge of CMT and TIG welding practices
  • Read and work from technical drawings (GD&T)
  • Experience of completing system and layered audits - ISO 9001 systems
  • Be self-motivated and work well as a team
  • Have a hands on approach
