An exciting vacancy has arisen within our R&D Team for a Project Engineer with project management experience to join us. Reporting directly to the Senior Project Manager, the main purpose of this role is to manage a range of technical projects to time, cost and quality including new product development and/or post design projects.

As a Project Engineer, you will:

  • Ensure that projects are managed to scope, cost and quality requirements adherence to the Pre- Development and/or the New Product Development Processes in place.
  • Ensure that projects are managed and delivered using the agreed communication and reporting structure in place from project kick off through to close
  • Take responsibility for the formulation of technical response on the Approved Detailed Product Request (DPR).  Establish robust, technical specifications in response to the agreed documents.
  • Ensure drawings and 3D models are completed inline with project scope using the business  CAD system
  • Continuously create, develop and promote new areas of technology relevant to the product roadmaps, with particular reference to enabling the company to achieve its objectives for growth and profitability.
  • Create development and test programmes that effectively validate the product design at each stage.  Ensure development of new products is completed to the agreed project plan following the NPD process at each key stage.
  • Continually review the Research & Development process, identifying key areas that can be improved to reduce timescales.
  • Ensure products are tested for quality and reliability using the business laboratory facilities.
  • Ensure product compliance to third party approvals including CE/UKCA compliance, Electrical, Gas or Water Regulations

You will bring the following experience, knowledge & skills:

  • Demonstratable experience in a similar role as either a Project Engineer or Project Manager.
  • Proven track record in delivering projects to time cost and quality in a product development or manufacturing environment
  • Knowledge of core design and mechanical engineering principles including technical drawing standards.
  • Knowledge of electronics and control systems would be advantageous
  • Planning and effective communication skills are essential, with the ability to achieve results to demanding timescales.
