An exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic and conscientious team player to join our commercial team based in Milton Keynes.  Reporting to the Technical Director, you will be required to manage the successful delivery of pre-fabricated heating systems for Gas Pre-Heat Applications, including after sales maintenance support.


The function also includes production and review of technical documents and tenders for the project management of sub contract manufactures, testing, delivery and commissioning of pre-fabricated heating systems. The successful candidate will also be the interface between BCD customers and the department.


This is an office based role with an amount of travelling where necessary. The package business is actively seeking expansion into new markets especially within the H&V industry including LZC solutions, so an extensive knowledge surrounding the latest industry technologies is essential.

Key tasks and responsibilities will be:

  • Managing of Packages department, Maintenance and Field service function
  • Delegation of project work load and targets
  • Customer contact to generate sales leads
  • Review of tender enquiries, customer orders, order to subcontractors and technical documents
  • Produce project specific technical data sheets for the heating systems and technical support of the package boiler house projects
  • Negotiating with clients and sub-contractors technically to complete projects and maintain good working relationships
  • Issue of technical specification and orders to subcontractors
  • Reviewing and approving subcontractor proposals prior to manufacture and to obtain client approval
  • Review of mechanical arrangement and schematic system diagrams
  • Review of control system wiring diagrams
  • Supporting the project engineers on the management of individual projects from design to delivery to ensure delivery times are maintained
  • Production of operating manuals and end of manufacturing data dossier
  • Assisting with the management of maintenance contract customers

Knowledge, experience and qualifications required:

  • Excellent communication, administrative and organisational skills
  • Strong IT skills required particularly Excel
  • Qualified in a mechanical/electrical engineering discipline (HND or higher)
  • Good knowledge of heating applications and/or experience on electrical control systems
